Very friendly and eager-to-assist staff. The free breakfast is good however it is limited to one plate per person. If you really want to get a full breakfast for the day you might not be satisfied. View from the rooms and pool are nice. Rooms are a little rundown. My biggest complaint is that the bed was a just a little better than sleeping on concrete. For a comparatively cheap way of seeing St. Thomas I would recommend this place.

Once you get past the steps, you will thoroughly enjoy the small hotel feeling. I realized how out of shape I was going up all the steps. We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and the view. This is not a five star hotel. But it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very enjoyable. The hotel is certainly convenient to the downtown and waterfront area.

We stayed one night prior to a sailboat charter vacation. They are very open about the number of stairs but when it is your first day in the islands it seems like twice the number in the heat and humidity. The room was clean but I arrived at 1030pm (my husband had checked in earlier) and I REALLY wanted a shower prior to crashing but---no water. It seems they turn the water off at night! But we solved this problem with a dip in the pool---really, a lovely way to start vacation. The breakfast is cooked to order--a nice surprise. You simply must try the restaurant next door ""Herve""---a gourmet delight with outstanding views! This hotel is very cheap and we would stay here again as you can walk into town and don't need a car or taxi to get down to town.

I purposely picked the cheapest hotel I could find because we were traveling with more people and needed to cut corners to make our trip economical. Thank goodness the staff was super friendly because it helped make up for the rather shabby condition of the hotel. The door to our room, I'm sure, could have been opened by just applying a little pressure to it with a shoulder. We didn't feel the safest there! All the steps from the street level, plus the heat and humidity made the climb up several times each day rather tiring. I definitely would not recommend this place to the elderly! Breakfasts were very good!
